Proof of concept

Proof of Concept For proof of concept we made a presentation for courses weekly workshop 6. The following text are taken from that presentation.  Evaluation & Findings  Suggestions for improvements, taken from Google Forms : ○ Recognizing and warning about dehydration – reminder to drink water ○ “Maybe the shirt could react to temperature, and become warmer or cooler” ○ Control over notifications ○ “I would like to track my progress on "good sitting" and also how much i was for example using my desk as a stand - up desk or sitting.” ○ Activity/rest reminders: drink, look outside the window, stretch etc. ○ Goal-setting to improve healthier positions, e.g. “stand 1 min more than the day before” ○ Using the same device to locate people suffering memory disorders UX Goals Our product has no clear UX goals, but couple ideas that arose from the workshop 6 and from the Google Forms are: ○ Intuitive  ○ Hassle free - Does not distract the normal flow o...

Idea validation

Kuva
The main ideas behind this blogpost are the following three steps: 1. MVP description 2. Storyboard 3. Idea Validation (test your storyboard) From all possible ideas that we created in the ideation session, we sorted and arranged them to a minimum viable product chart. It contains the minimum functionality that is needed for the product above the zigzag line. Under the line are some possible functionality that could be implemented afterwards. We also used value proposition canvas to illustrate how we can answer to different used needs and what value our solution brings. After that we created a storyboard that illustrates how the functionality can be used in a office environment. We then wanted to validate our ideas so we held a questionnaire with Google forms and six people participated. We presented the storyboard, a written story to accommodate it and asked a few questions. As can be seen from the results, participants were quite like minded about the...

Ideation process

Kuva
While we had a workshop ideation session we managed to get about 20 features and ideas in total. We got best results while thinking about the ideas alone without any self censorship. Then we put the ideas on a big paper and sorted them. Hardest part of the ideation process was defining the problem and idea selection (See picture of double-diamond process). Ideation session canvas Current minimum features are user recognition, posture recognition, workstation adaptability to user settings and identification to restricted areas. There are also other ideas and features and we are planning to have a questionnaire about the most desirable features and then iterate those further. We plan to implement these features with a smart clothing (t-shirt, hoodie, etc) and a link device (wristband, smartwatch, smart ring). Ideation affected positively to our product development. We now almost have a “complete” product concept idea on our hands. Before it we didn’t really have anything co...

Target groups and need finding

Kuva
In this projects we wanted to design something that could be used as generally as possible. Considering target group needs, we ruled out, at least for this phase, the needs of some industries that have really special working environments. This was done because special environments have special work safety need. We considered something more general instead. Therefore we chose as a rough, tentative target group employees that work in indoor environment like offices, retail stores, hospitals etc. So heavy industry was excluded. For customer segmentation and grouping we used different methods. First we used the Lean Service Creation (LSC) customer grouping canvas by Futurice Ltd. We filled there two groups: project manager and customer service person in pharmacy. We created two personas to represent some of the potential users. We also conducted three interviews in order to learn more about the work and work context of the potential users. The most important findings we had from thos...
